Obesessing On Shoes

1. Ankle Wedge Booties on Lug Sole by Camilla Skovgaard in Cool Grey
2. Kole Oxford Wedges by Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent in Redwood
3. Lang Suede Wedge Booties by Pour La Victoire in Grey Taupe
4. Tick Open Toe Booties by Jeffrey Campbell in Nude
5. Bandit Draped Suede Wedge Booties by Jeffrey Campbell in Black

Seriously obsessing on shoes. Lately all I've been posting are shoes, shoes and more shoes. I was on a search for some nude pumps or wedges when I got sidetracked by these gorgeous colors, particularly the oxford wedges in redwood.

Zara Casual 2010 Fall Lookbook Favorites

Zara is one of my favorite stores. They always have something that catches my eye and usually at a reasonable price. Here are some looks I love from their 2010 Fall Lookbook:

Look 1: Love the white button down blouse with the bowtie ribbon
Look 2: The cardigan has a really cool print. And the shoes!
Look 3: This outfit is so cute. Loving the color of the jacket and the button down blouse
Look 4: Entire outfit from scarf to shoes = I want!

Look 5: The beanie, the jacket and the PS1 inspired, vintage-looking bag.
Look 6: The sporty look of the jacket plus the lady-like ruffle and lace of the skirt.

I can't wait to see these items in store. Fabsugar.com has more images from Zara Casual's 2010 Fall Lookbook you can view here.

Céline Velvet Sandal Clogs

Another "look for less" post, this time for one of the hottest styles that came out this Spring 2010: Céline's velvet sandal clogs.

And if you've got more than $50 to spare in your pocket, there are some other mid-priced alternatives you can check out for this style. Look at these versions by Joe's Jeans and Jeffrey Campbell:

Curly Wedge by Aldo Shoes

Look what I found on Aldo's website -- a mid-priced alternative to Mr. Man!

It retails for US$100 on Aldo's online shop which is not a very big difference from Jeffrey Campbell's Mr. Man at US$150. So whatever price range you can afford, this style can definitely be yours.

Mr. Man and Lilly

Lusting over those Jeffrey Campbell and Joe's Jeans shoes? Sometimes you don't have to fork over a huge sum to get those styles. Thanks to some local online shops, you can get shoes of a similar design for a lot less. Check these out:

Virtual Mae is an online blog shop in the Philippines specializing in shoes while Painting Delia is an online blog shop in Singapore selling not only shoes but clothes, bags and accessories as well.

And of course, Jeffrey Campbell also has similar style to Joe's Jeans' Lilly Wedge Booties:

For another example, check my post about the Dolce &Gabbana Slingback Suede Wedge -- a local Singaporean online shop is currently accepting pre-orders for this style.

Acne Admire Wedge vs Senso Neve Bootie

On the left is the Admire Leather Wedge Boot by Acne and on the right is Neve Black Grained Nappa by Senso.

Well, you can see the similarity in style with both shoes. Both have the drape and buckle strap detail but the Neve doesn't have the exposed zipper tape opening and there's a slight heel to it. Hands down, the original Acne boot still looks best. If you do love this style, the Senso is definitely more affordable with its US$200 price tag compared to Acne's US$680.

ASOS Leather Slot Through Satchel in Mink

The Leather Slot Through Satchel by ASOS that I had blogged about a couple of days ago apparently comes in a lighter color as well. They call it "mink"...

Pretty. The green or the mink?

Shoe Addiction

Found this in my inbox earlier, new arrivals at Solestruck.com. Mostly Jeffrey Campbell's on the photo above. Aah, the temptation of online shopping.

Don't these look adorable?

Flashback to Keds

Champion Metallics in graphite grey, Champion Satin in magenta,
New Americana Stripe Sateen in Navy and Not Too Shabby Laceless Twill in green olive

I remember having those plain white Keds back in school. They weren't really the thing to wear during PhysEd classes especially when you're playing soccer football or softball. You need chunky rubber shoes for those. My old plain white Keds are long gone and have probably turned grey. I'd want to buy a new pair though. I think the New Americana Stripe Sateen in navy would look great with denim shorts and a crisp plain white button down shirt.

ASOS Leather Slot Through Satchel

I was surfing through the ASOS website when this color caught my eye, and that says a lot since I'm not usually one to like green. This one, I admit, is in a really nice shade. The design also reminds me of the Proenza Schouler PS1. But I have to wonder how the color translates into real life. That's the problem with online shopping, you don't really get to "see" a product in all its glory and faults.

According to the site, it has a textured leather finish, adjustable long strap and metal fastening. The outer is 100% leather and the lining is 100% polyester.

The ASOS Leather Slot Through Satchel also comes in two other colors:

Oh, and here's another cute satchel from ASOS:

You can buy them all online at ASOS.com.

Lace-Up Boots

I am currently stalking all versions of lace-up boots online. Here are a few that have caught my eye:

According to Lorisshoes.com:
Vintage-inspired style makes this wedge bootie a trendsetting standout. Tan faux leather caps the toe and heel, trimming the lace-up panel and ankle cuff for a fashionable contrast. Beige canvas wraps the upper and towering wedge heel, adding to the urban-vintage look.
Details: Canvas upper with faux leather trim, fabric lining, and a man-made sole with 4.5" wedge heel.
Very similar to Chloe's lace-up wedge:

Aldo Felicetti Wedge Platform

Felicetti Wedge Platform in cognac and black by Aldo

Here's another take on the wedge platform so popular this season: Aldo's Felicetti wedge platform sandals. According to their website:
Rock this season's wedge platform trend with these sexy two-piece sandals. Smooth leather upper with crisscross front straps and adjustable ankle tie.
I have previously blogged about the different wedge platforms that came out, from the Miracle Wedge by Jeffrey Campbell to the Brenda Platform Sandals by Joe's Jeans - both in likeness to the original Celine sandal clogs. Since these shoes are not available locally (as far as I know, at least), I haven't tried them on so I can't personally say anything about their quality and comfort level.

P.S: Most fashion bloggers have commented that the Brenda platforms are comfy and that Jeffrey Campbell always makes high quality shoes.

Now as for Aldo's Felicetti, I saw a pair in the Aldo store and tried them on. They are comfortable with the leather straps soft enough to feel great against your feet. I also love the color of the cognac, a perfect brown shoe to add to your wardrobe. It retails at US$90 from the online Aldo shop for the cognac while the black is on sale online at US$36. Both are SG$155 at the local Aldo store.
