Stella McCartney for Gap Kids

Last weekend, I popped in to Gap for some Christmas shopping. I don’t normally check out the kids section because for some reason they’re expensive in this part of the world (all of Gap, not just kids). And that’s their in-house collection, I’m not even talking about their partnerships with famous fashion designers.

Side note: I really don’t know why they’re expensive in Asia (or at the very least Singapore and Philippines). It’s been years since I’ve been to US but if I remember correctly, Gap wasn’t this expensive. Was it?

Anyhoo, we came through the entrance by the kids section when I saw the Stella McCartney for GapKids collection and this jacket caught my eye:

Here’s a closer look:

Isn’t it gorgeous? Not really practical for kids (growth spurts anyone?) and with the price tag it came with, a definite splurge. But like the cute kid in the first photo, it would look darling on a little boy or girl.

Ditsy Tea Dress by Dorothy Perkins

Passed by the mall earlier looking for a long rocker-esque shirt and ended up fitting several items (which were totally off the rocker-esque theme by the way) at Dorothy Perkins. This one particular dress I liked was called the Black/White Ditsy Tea Dress (Ditsy?). It fit great and was very lightweight, perfect for the weather in Singapore. Perfect for the office and perfect for Sunday brunch or casual dinner with the girls…

NO, I didn’t buy it… uhm, yet. It was a bit too pricey for me so I’m thinking it over. Doing the if-it’s-still-there-tomorrow-then-it’s-meant-to-be-so-I-guess-I-should-buy-it tactic. Well, maybe not tomorrow. Giving it a few days to see if I can live without it. So far, it’s not going well since as you can see I’m obviously thinking about it… hence the blogging (at 12:01 am at that!).

Let me sleep on it.

Street Styles

More online viewing pleasure for the fashionistas out there:

Stylesightings

The Street Walker

Street Style London

Street Peeper

Citizen Couture

The Sartorialist

These are more street fashion, everyday people captured in all their funky and stylish selves. I find these type of sites more “educational” than that of those quote-unquote fashion sites.

Enjoy!

Style Watch: KarlasCloset.com

For the fashionistas out there, here’s one fashion blogger I’ve been following lately: Karla of Karla’s Closet.

If you’ve been to LookBook.nu, her blog is of a similar theme. She posts photos of her daily (?) outfits with little anecdotes. Her style of dressing is very classy and comfy looking at the same time.

I especially love her Kensington post.

Go check her out now.

Dasan Boot by Vans

Now for something funky:

For the punk rocker in me (if there is one, that is). I love the detail in the skull button. It also comes in yellow:

The yellow brings out the detail in the skull button and it’s just a lovely color for a dreary rainy day.

Hunter Wellies In Pink

The first of my boot-love posts today:

Hunter boots didn’t use to be this fashionable but with this nice pop of color, who can resist? Fashionable and comfortable, what more do you need?

Fuzz Crime Scene Scarf

As a crime/forensics show junkie, I cannot help but fall in love with this scarf:

Apparently, not everyone loves this scarf. It’s not for everyone but I think you gotta find the humor in it.

Silence & Noise Faux Leather Bomber Jacket

This post should be categorized as “What I Always Love”. As my closest friends know, I’ve always had a thing for jackets. Jackets of any kind — sporty, casual, for work, for play. But alas, I was born and raised in a tropical island and now live in a country even closer to the equator than that I was born in.

Here’s the latest in my jacket-lust:

A brown faux leather jacket from Urban Outfitters. This would be too hot to wear where I am, rainy season or not. But then again, that haven’t stopped me before. *blush*

Now, if only we had UO here in Singapore. My heart is heavy but my wallet is grateful.
Until the next jacket-lust entry…

Jimmy Choo Wellington Boots

I’ve posted about rain boots before, it was a pair of funky rain boots that time. Now this one is classy. What else can you expect from Jimmy Choo?

Retails at US$395.00. Yikes!

Style Watch: Sebastian Errazuriz Stuffed Bear Coat

Sebastian Errazuriz Stuffed Bear Coat

At first glance I thought she was hugging all those stuffed bears to her chest but really? A coat made out of stuffed bears?

Kinda freaky to me. *scratching head*

Military Button Jacket by Rare

In the same theme or styling of the Balmain jacket I posted before, this military-styled jacket by Rare is gorgeous. It's longer and more monochromatic (aka less flashy) than the original.

Multi Print Rain Boot

I hate getting my feet wet. And I hate the sudden rainstorms here in Singapore. You never know when a rain shower comes. It’s scorching hot coming in to the office but sometimes, by lunch time, the clouds look like Independence Day and you came in wearing your favorite flat sandals. Not good footwear in the rain.

So, as I was searching for shoes online I came across this pair of rain boots. Rain boots always make me think of those yellow or black plastic boots that construction workers wear.
This on the other hand, is a fashionista’s rain boot. Isn’t it darling?

I love it! =)

Topshop Jersey Blazers

I am currently loving those jersey slouchy blazers from Topshop. It seems perfect for the hot and humid weather here in Singapore. It’s not as heavy and thick like normal blazers but it’s cool and not-too-casual enough for the office.

Pair it with a white long tank with black leggings? Perfect.

Gucci Medium Tote

It’s not the more expensive leather bags from Gucci but this metallic-like bag is pretty cool. I saw this in one of the Gucci shops along Orchard months ago and I’ve been thinking about it these past couple of days (birthday gift for myself? hmm…). Anyway, had a hard time finding it in the online site — it’s apparently classified under Travel & Business totes.

It’s color is called gunmetal crystal and made out of GG lamé fabric with black leather trim. Can’t remember exactly how much it costs but I think it was under SGD700 bucks. (edit: SGD670, all prices as of 28 Aug)

It also comes in 2 other colors: dark gold/ebony crystal also in GG lamé fabric with dark gold leather trim (picture below – SGD630) and sand GG fabric with pink leather trim (SGD600).

I’m leaning towards the gunmetal one… IF I can afford it! LOL

Balmain Canvas Jacket

Balmain's black crystal embellished canvas military jacket is The jacket of 2009. This style or permutations of this style is already copied by other labels such as Topshop, Berksha and Stella McCartney for GAP. This is an expensive high-investment piece but I'm sure somewhere out there you can find a look just like this.
