What Came In The Mail... Second Round

Here it is! Thanks Carrie!

It comes with this cute little fabric pouch.

A Seventh Door exclusive: Silver Cross Connector Ring

I already talked about this ring in a previous blog post here. But just to recap, according to their site:
The first Seventh Door exclusive! Amazing large cross double finger ring made of solid white bronze with a satin finish. Cross measures 45mm x 23mm (nearly 2" x 1"). Since this ring is solid white bronze, it is extremely durable and will not lose its silver color or tarnish.
I love it! It's true to size, fits perfectly. You can buy it here.

Miracle Wedge by Jeffrey Campbell

When did these come out? Retails for US$135 at JildorShoes.com. Looks like the original Céline Spring 2010 Wooden Wedge:

I still prefer the Joe's Jeans Brenda Platform Sandals as I blogged before here.

Prüne Lace-Up Boots

The boots worn in this Lookbook.nu photo by Mariposa N. caught my eye:

According to her post these military-inspired lace-up boots are by Argentinian brand, Prüne. I just love the detail at the toe end of the boot. It also comes in black:

But the tan is nicer, don't you think?
Loving this photo from their website as well...

Where Did All The Lace Fans Go?

When I was little, I remember going to mass on Sundays in non-air conditioned churches. Most churches now  have upgraded and have brought in air-conditioning but back then, hearing mass was sometimes a hot and humid experience -- especially when you're made to wear dresses and trousers. Shorts, jeans and anything skimpy was a big NO in church.

Anyway, my mom had this awesome collection of lace hand fans, hand-painted silk fans and Japanese printed paper wooden fans. She'd always have one in her bag and bring them out at church to fan herself (and whoever was lucky enough to sit beside her). When we got older, she'd lend us one to bring so we can fan ourselves.

But now I wonder, where have all those beautiful fans gone? I don't see them around that much anymore. Often I think of gifting my mom a beautiful fan for her birthday but it's so hard to find a place that sells the nice fans -- none of those battery-operated fans you place on your neck or those cartoon-covered plastic fans. I want a wooden one with lace or hand-painted paper. I think the last time my mom got a really nice one was when my dad got her something from Spain.

Dany vs Foxy: Jessica Simpson and Jeffrey Campbell

The Dany shoe by Jessica Simpson is very popular among fashion bloggers and fashionistas on Lookbook. I've seen them on a lot pictures and photoshoots all over the world. According to the Jessica Simpson Collection website:
The Dany shoe from Jessica Simpson is truly a style statement. Heads will turn when you show off this alluring leather t-strap sandal, which stands on a soaring 5.8 inch wood heel.
It retails for US$98 and comes in both black and tan. I love how it looks but wonder if it's comfortable and easy to walk on with its "soaring" height. Anyone?

Oh, it comes in silver too. Found this on the Zappos site:

Jeffrey Campbell also came up with its own version called the Foxy:

Campbell shoes are usually the more affordable alternative to branded shoes but this time their Foxy shoe retails much more at US$145. Their version is made of genuine calfskin, manmade materials with a shoe height of 8" (heel height at 5.5" and platform height of 2"). It also comes in caramel color and leopard print.

I personally love the original Jessica Simpson Dany shoe better with its darker wood platform and the way it makes the leather look like it covers all the way to the sole. The Jeffrey Campbell Foxy in black has a more beige-colored wood while their caramel and leopard version uses a more brown-colored wood. It also has extra leather at the edges of the shoe while the Jessica Simpson version is totally cut out.

But the more I look at it, I'm beginning to like the Jeffrey Campbell Foxy in Caramel...
